CODE OF CONDUCT
Section 1: Purpose and Application
Balancers events exist to provide inclusive, welcoming, and safe social spaces where people can connect, participate, and feel comfortable being themselves.
This Code of Conduct defines behavioural standards, boundaries, and consequences, and provides a safeguarding-led framework for responding to concerns.
Impact matters more than intent. Behaviour that causes discomfort, fear, or distress may be addressed even if unintended.
This Code applies to:
- All Balancers events, ticketed or free
- All Balancers-managed online spaces, including the app
- Behaviour that impacts the safety or wellbeing of the Balancers community
Section 2: Behavioural Standards
2.1 Respect and Safety
All attendees must act respectfully and comply immediately with requests from organisers or ambassadors.
2.2 Safety and Responsibility
Attendees must prioritise safety, comply with venue rules, follow instructions, and report concerns promptly.
2.3 Inclusive Behaviour
Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behaviour based on protected characteristics is not tolerated.
2.4 Boundaries and Consent
Attendees must respect personal space, stop immediately when discomfort is expressed, and refrain from persistent attention or advances after refusal.
2.5 Participation
Deliberate disruption, interference, or refusal to comply with organiser or ambassador requests is unacceptable.
2.6 Unacceptable Behaviour
Including but not limited to:
- Harassment, stalking, or intimidation
- Sexual harassment or unwanted attention
- Aggressive or threatening conduct
- Attempts to circumvent safeguarding measures
- Behaviour that causes distress or fear to others
2.7 Alcohol and Substances
Alcohol must be consumed responsibly. Intoxication is not an excuse for inappropriate behaviour. Illegal substances are prohibited.
2.8 Photography and Recording
Photography and recording must be respectful and non-intrusive. Covert, sexualised, or distressing recording is prohibited.
2.9 Misrepresentation
Impersonating organisers, ambassadors, or misusing perceived authority is prohibited.
2.10 Online and Community Spaces
Harassment, abuse, privacy breaches, or harmful conduct within Balancers-managed online spaces are prohibited.
2.11 Direct Messaging (Balancers App)
Unwanted, persistent, or distressing communication through the app is prohibited.
2.12 Reporting Concerns
Concerns may be reported to organisers, ambassadors, or via official Balancers reporting channels. Reports are handled sensitively and confidentially.
2.13 Enforcement and Consequences
Actions may include:
- Immediate removal from an event
- Suspension or permanent exclusion from Balancers services
- Escalation to venue security or authorities where appropriate
Depending on severity, action may be taken immediately and without prior warning.
Any appeal or review, where offered, is entirely discretionary and does not constitute a formal right.
2.14 Acceptance
Attendance at a Balancers event or use of Balancers services constitutes acceptance of this Code of Conduct.
Life Balancer LTD reserves the right to amend this Code as required.
